PerkJar gives your customers points for paid orders and a referral link to share. Points turn into single-use discount codes. On the free plan you pay 1% of an order only when it used one of PerkJar's codes.

What it does
A points program and a referral program in one app.
01Points on paid orders
Customers earn at the rate you set, on the subtotal after discounts. Add a welcome bonus and a birthday bonus. Call them points, stars or anything that suits your shop. Points can expire if you want them to, and a refund takes points back in proportion.
02Rewards as single-use codes
Members trade points for money off, a percentage off or free shipping. Each redemption creates a one-time code tied to that customer and valid for 30 days, so it can't be passed around.
03Referrals with guardrails
Every member gets a REF- code and a share link. Friends get the offer you set. The member earns points only after the friend's first order is paid. Self-referrals are blocked by customer and by email, and a refund takes the reward back.
04A ledger you can read
Every point that moves has a row: which order, which bonus, which adjustment. You can adjust a balance by hand and leave a note for the next person.

What shoppers see
A rewards panel that fits your theme.
Three pieces you add from Shopify's theme editor: a floating rewards launcher, a referral banner and a product points line. They run on a small plain script with no outside libraries or tracking.

Billing
How PerkJar's 1% is counted
This applies on the free plan. On the Studio plan there is no percentage at all.
An order counts when it used a code PerkJar issued: a REF- referral code or a PERK- reward code.
The amount is the whole order subtotal after discounts, before tax and shipping, in your store currency. Each order counts once. A refund reverses the fee in proportion.
Orders without one of these codes are never charged, however much the customer spends.

- A friend uses

- A referral PerkJar blocks, such as a self-referral. The member gets no points, but the order still used the
REF-code, so it counts.

Setup
Set up in 5 steps
Works with Online Store 2.0 themes. No theme code to edit.
- Install PerkJar and choose a plan. Shopify shows the plan page when you install. Start on the free plan.
- Open Studio and set up your program. Earn rate, bonuses, the rewards people can redeem and the referral offer.
- Turn on the rewards launcher. Online Store, Themes, Customize, App embeds, then switch on the PerkJar rewards launcher.
- Add the other blocks if you want them. The referral banner and product points blocks sit in any section's Add block menu.
- Watch the Billing page. Each counted order shows up there with the amount and the fee.
Does PerkJar charge for every order from a loyalty member?
No. Membership alone never counts. An order counts only when it used a referral or reward code PerkJar issued.
Do customers need an account?
To collect and spend points, yes. PerkJar reads the customer who is logged in to your store, so nobody can fake a balance. Guests see what the program offers and a button to log in or sign up.
Can a reward code end up on a coupon site?
Reward codes are single use and tied to the customer who redeemed them, so a shared code won't work for anyone else.
Does PerkJar send emails to my customers?
No. PerkJar sends no marketing email. The share by email button opens the customer's own mail app.
What does it add to my theme?
One small script and stylesheet from the app's theme extension. No outside libraries, no tracking pixels, and no cookies.
I also work with influencers. Is that in PerkJar?
No. Creator and affiliate codes live in RallyCrew, a separate app, so neither one is stuffed with features you won't use.
